The Right Honourable the Prime Minister, Hon. Pakalitha Mosisili paid a visit to the IAEA Director General, Yukiya Amano, at the Agency headquarters in Vienna, Austria, on 8th December 2009.

The visit follows the joining of the Agency by the kingdom of Lesotho in 13th July, 2009. It has served as a token of commitment of the government to pursue its technical cooperation programme with the Agency through peaceful applications of nuclear science to improve health care (nutrition, cancer treatment, communicable disease), increase agricultural food production, improve management of water resources and assess sources of environmental pollution.
