Professional Experience |

He has worked as a Medical Doctor in the
Ministry of Health of the Kingdom of Lesotho from
1981 to 1991. Rose from the ranks of a Senior
Medical Officer to the Director of Hospital
Services. During this period he also served as
Physician Trainer for Allied Health Professional,
and did both clinical and administrative work
associated with Primary Health Care, both at the
National and district levels.
Spearheaded the development and implantation of a
national training programme for Nurse Clinicians in
Lesotho. A health cadre of nurses trained to provide
diagnostic, treatment and management of patients at
the Health Centres.
From 1991 20 2001, was seconded to the Lesotho
Highlands Development Authority (LHDA) as a Public
Health Officer with the responsibility of designing
and implementing a public health programme in the
Highlands Water Project Areas. Within the LHDA rose
within the ranks to the position of Deputy General
Manager Environment and Social Services responsible
for the implementation of the Environmental Action
Plan which included rural development, public
health, compensation and resettlement for affected
communities in the project areas.
He has served as a Private Medical Practitioner in
Mokhotlong and a consultant Public Health Specialist
to Mokhotlong Government Hospital as well as a
Director of Naleli Medi-Clinic.
Has a wide experience in health development issues
at the national, regional and international levels.
Has represented Lesotho in many regional and
international conferences relating to health,
development and social issues, and fully is
conversant with current health, social and
development challenges facing Lesotho and Developing
countries.
He is a member of several national and international
health organizations. He has special interest in
sports, arts and culture. He has served as President
of the Lesotho Lawn Tennis Association, President of
Lesotho Medical Association and currently
Chairperson of the Morija Museum and Archives.
He has several professional publications in
international journals of health and development to
his credit.
He has represented Lesotho in many international
meetings and conferences relating to social and
development issues including World Economic Forum
and Smart Partnership International Dialogues.
In 2006 he was appointed Ambassador of the Kingdom
of Lesotho to the Federal Republic of Germany and
also accredited to France, Austria, the Holy See,
Monaco, Poland and the Russian Federation.
